Rising from exporting Hides and Skins, Hassan Bassajjabalaba has been the epitome of a successful business career internationally, ranked as one of the wealthiest people in Uganda according to the latest ranks by New Vision, a top Uganda News daily. Yet, his father’s longstanding presence in the Hides and Skins trade laid the foundation for Bassajjabalaba’s diverse business empire.
With over 27 years in active business, with immense determination and consistency Hassan Bassajjabala has undoubtedly been one of the most prestigious and successful entrepreneurs internationally with
over 5 well-established companies in Uganda.
His legacy rose to fame having established Kampala International University in 2001. Kampala International University has since explored the heights as the motto says becoming a leading private University and the Second Best University in Uganda after Makerere University according to UniRank.
Bassajjabalaba has orchestrated a symphony of enterprises which include a tea factory in Butare and Nyakashaka employs hundreds of local people. As a compassionate humanitarian dedicated to uplifting the lives of his fellow citizens, he has since embarked on a mission to bring positive change to Uganda, leaving an indelible mark on the nation.
Beyond his business acumen, Bassajjabalaba has displayed unwavering support for President Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM). His allegiance stemmed from a belief in the potential of the country’s leadership to drive positive change.
As a proactive leader, he saw in President Museveni a fellow advocate for progress and stability, aligning his vision with that of the thus serving as a chairperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement entrepreneurs’ league. He has since unfolded many opportunities for the Ugandans by increasing literacy levels which has triggered creativity and innovation.
