Lwengo – A tragic car accident occurred on the Masaka-Mbarara highway in Lwengo District on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of three family members.
A Fuso truck and a Toyota Mark X collided at Kyabbogo Village, causing both vehicles to catch fire.
The impact was severe, leaving three occupants of the Toyota Mark X dead, with their bodies burned beyond recognition.
The victims were identified as Collin Kityo, 21, Lauben Mwine, 27, and Vincent Lubega, 35, who were traveling to Masaka City for a family event.
One occupant survived, while the Fuso truck’s occupants sustained injuries.
Speeding is suspected to be a contributing factor to the crash.
