In a surprising turn of events, a newlywed couple in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, divorced just hours after their wedding, leaving the entire village in shock.

The incident involved 26-year-old Haniffa Saidi, whose life has been marked by early marriages and troubled relationships.

Born into a poor family, Haniffa was unable to continue her education after completing Form Four. She entered her first marriage in 2019, but it ended after two years due to allegations of her husband’s infidelity.

“I fell in love with another man. As women, we always want to present ourselves well in public, but when I realized my new boyfriend was poor and couldn’t support me financially, I decided to start another relationship, eventually dating two men at the same time,” Haniffa recounted.

During this time, Haniffa became pregnant but was unsure who the father was, leading to a series of unfortunate decisions.

“With no other option, I told both men separately that the baby was theirs. However, one of them denied paternity, citing a medical condition that made it unlikely for him to father a child,” she explained.

This prompted her to leave him and turn to the other man, who also denied being the father.

“I was left confused and desperate, not knowing what to do next,” she recalled with pain. She eventually managed her pregnancy and delivery on her own.

“After giving birth, I started raising my child alone. Fortunately, I found a job that helped me regain my confidence and improve my appearance.”

Later, Haniffa met another man with whom she fell deeply in love.

“This man was very wealthy. We took time to get to know each other, but I made a huge mistake by not telling him the truth about my past. I told him I was single and that he was the first man I had ever been romantically involved with, hiding the fact that I had a child,” she continued.

The wealthy man took care of her and her secret child.

“He once suggested we become intimate, but I insisted we wait until marriage. I didn’t realize I was making a big mistake.”

Their love blossomed quickly, and he eventually asked her to quit her job, promising to take care of her.

“We developed a strong bond. I would spend time at his house, but he never pressured me to sleep with him, assuring me that he would wait until marriage.”

Eventually, they decided to get married and introduced each other to their families. Their wedding was celebrated with joy among both families.

However, things took a drastic turn after the wedding.

“On our wedding night, we went to a hotel for our honeymoon. After showering, we began unboxing our gifts. I was filled with fear, knowing I had to face the consequences of my lies.”

“I decided to tell him the truth, hoping he would understand and forgive me. I started the conversation and confessed everything,” Haniffa recalled with sorrow.

The man became furious and told her she wasn’t the kind of woman he wanted to spend his life with.

“Immediately after that, he left the hotel, telling me everything was over,” Haniffa said. He quickly filed for divorce, leaving her no choice but to sign the papers and return to her previous life.
