ENTEBBE – Police have arrested Catholic Priest Rev.Fr. Dominic Alinga for stabbing a Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) worker only identified as John Bosco.
The incident occurred after Bosco demanded repayment of a loan amounting to UGX11 million Father Dominic was owing Johnbosco.
This followed An Audio message circulating on various WhatsApp groups revealing that Fr. Dominic, who was a friend of John Bosco, arranged to meet him to finalize some transactions.
It is alleged that Fr. Dominic visited Bosco’s home and requested Victim to drive him to Entebbe.
As they were approaching UN Base in Entebbe, Fr. Dominic allegedly pulled out a sharp knife and started to stab Bosco several times.
It’s also said that the duo were picked by the nearby resident and taken to the hospital where Bosco revealed the ordeal to his mother on phone that he has been stabbed by father Dominic.
Bosco allegedly tried to defend himself by jumping out of the car where he was picked up by a bodaboda man but were knocked down by the father before they took off.
The injuries proved fatal, and Bosco was pronounced dead at Entebbe Grade B hospital.
The Aftermath and Community Response in An audio message on WhatsApp describes the deep sorrow within the community.
“Comrades, Kampala Metro, good afternoon. Yesterday was a dark day for us as a family. Our colleague, a diligent and punctual man, is no more,” it began.
Details of the incident remain scanty, but preliminary investigations indicate that Bosco had lent a significant amount of money to Fr. Dominic. When Bosco demanded repayment, the priest resorted to violence, leading to the tragic event.
The statement continued, describing how Bosco drove Fr. Dominic to Entebbe, where the attack occurred.
Despite Bosco’s efforts to defend himself, he was severely injured and later he was pronounced dead.
