The incident comes 3 days after an army spy helicopter crashed in kasese.
The crash occurred in Ntoroko -karugutu when the pilot lost control and crashed into a resident’s home leaving him dead.
The UPDF Deputy spokesperson ,colonel Deo Akiki says ,”The UPDF Airforce regret to report a helicopter crash in the general of karugutu-Ntoroko .Details of the crash shall be availed later.But what is clear, it is purely accidental.”
So far 3 people have been confirmed dead including the occupants of the helicopter and the resident.
The UPDF have not yet confirmed the identities of the deceased at the time of this publication.
Previous crash
In July 2023,a UPDF helicopter crashed in karamoja while on routine operations.
The helicopter Reg No.AF 822 crashed at Nadiket village west of Moroto Barracks. Fortunately 3 air crews survived.
